The Level 3 Network Security Engineer is a senior technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network security solutions across the organization. This role focuses on threat mitigation, maintaining compliance for a financial institution, and integrating security controls into network infrastructure across 23+ sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Architecture: Develop network security architecture (firewalls, VPNs, proxies, IPS) adhering to regulatory frameworks (NCA, NDMO, ISO 27001, NIST, CIS hardening baselines).
- Firewall & Perimeter Management: Manage enterprise firewalls, access control policies, NAT, site-to-site VPNs, and internet gateways; support Zero Trust implementations and network segmentation.
- Troubleshooting & Operations: Lead complex security incident resolutions, analyze traffic patterns via monitoring tools, and coordinate with SOC teams for evidence and remediation.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure audit readiness, assist with risk assessments, and manage security changes through strict ServiceNow approval processes (CAB, maintenance windows, rollback plans).
- Project Support: Design secure-by-design applications, evaluate emerging technologies, and support initiatives like Unified Endpoint Security consolidation.
Key Requirements
- Firewalls: Palo Alto NGFW (primary platform for policy management, threat prevention, GlobalProtect VPN) and Cisco ASA/FTD (secondary platform).
- Network Access & Security: Cisco ISE (NAC, posture assessment, guest access, BYOD workflows).
- Monitoring & Observability: SolarWinds NPM/NTA and Dynatrace event correlation.
- Concepts: Layer 2–7 troubleshooting, Zero Trust architecture, segmentation, and defense-in-depth strategies.
- Experience: Typically 6+ years of relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Languages: Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English.
- Palo Alto PCNSE (primary)
- Cisco CCNP Security / CCIE Security
- CISSP or CISM (a plus)
- Fortinet NSE 4–7 (desirable)
